During the process of injection mold design and injection mold engineering, there are several steps that have to be followed to ensure a positive outcome. The steps in the process include:

• First, the material has to enter the barrel.
• Once the material is in the barrel, it will melt and get mixed with a variety of other materials. That way, you can make sure you have the right materials in your part.
• The volume of material in the barrel is measured to ensure there is enough present.
• Once the verification process is complete, the mold closes. The mold is responsible for making sure your part takes on the correct final form.
• Plastic is injected into the mold cavity to complete the material gathering process.
• Once all the materials are present, the materials are allowed to cool inside the mold. That way, the part will hold its shape when it comes out.
• After this, the mold opens and the part is ejected.
• Finally, you will have an opportunity to inspect the parts and make sure it has taken on the right form.
